An Annual Conference for Coaches and Leaders Committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Business and Beyond
Are you tired of being bound by the way things have always been done? You know, one-part toxic capitalism, one-part supremacy culture, one-part imposter-syndrome.

Whether you're a:

  • Transformational coach
  • Ambitious entrepreneur
  • Rebellious online business owner
  • Disruptive subject matter expert
  • Trailblazer in the medical field
  • Advocate for environmental justice
  • Corporate lawyer committed to change

Whatever your role!

You’re done being compliant with the oppressive systems within your industry.

You are seeking to infuse equity-centered practices into your professional growth and at all levels of your organization.

Like-minded leaders, professionals, and coaches are convening — to share their expertise, aspirations, and challenges — contributing to a collective vision of a more equitable and inclusive future.

It's happening at The Equity-Centered Coaching Summit, and we invite you to join us.

      We Do Conferences Differently
Like me, you probably already went to…
      not_interested
The meeting on *fancy figure* launches.
      not_interested
The one where they kept you in the room all day and night, and then sold you something that you had to run to the back of the room to buy.
      not_interested
The hype conference with all the fancy people, and their fancy clothes, who inspired you to take action and get that money.
      not_interested
The poorly facilitated speed networking event where you round robin ideas, exchange feedback cards, and maybe keep in touch.
You went to those events already...
(or at least one of them)
And you can expect absolutely none of that at the Equity-Centered Coaching Summit.

At this event, I felt like my autonomy and my critical thinking ability was respected, which is very rare at online business events... There was never a moment where I felt like I better buy something. I felt like I could just be here and be a participant.

We're all just here to solve really complex problems that are absolutely not going to be solved in a day, and it was just great to be in a space where everybody kind of knows that.

The Equity-Centered Coaching Summit is going to be different, fun, and most of all, transformative.
We know some of these important topics can be uncomfortable, so attendees (and speakers) are encouraged to dress for comfort. The vibe is chill and laid-back, and you're likely to feel that as soon as you step into this space.

What makes this event different from other events that I've been to in the past is how chill it is.

It's big to be able to tackle this kind of work, in a way that injects humor, injects levity, and also honors and respects the gravity of it.

One of my favorite things that I've experienced here... the energy is so much more laid-back.

It is super casual in a way that invites you to really be yourself, and not have to code switch, and just genuinely be yourself.

We are very intentional about creating a space where people feel comfortable to learn, contribute, challenge ideas, and show up authentically.
Throughout this 2-Day Event You'll Learn
How to increase emotional and psychological safety in the communities and teams you lead.
About the role that coaching plays in building more equitable communities and workplaces.
The skills and tools that will help you increase the trust, safety, and cultural responsiveness in your own communities.

This work is the foundation of everything, and I think that's what is missing from a lot of other events... It shouldn't be assumed, it shouldn't be left out of the conversation. It should be, here is the baseline that we're working off of and it's one of inclusivity, it's one of equity, it's one of meeting people where they're at. And I just don't think that anywhere else is doing that, and if you haven't experienced something like that, as a coach, this is the perfect place to do it, because of the way the container is upheld.

Our goal is to bring the most effective concepts and proven practices of diversity, equity and inclusion to The Equity-Centered Coaching Summit.
      While You're Here You'll Experience
Industry leaders who are driving forward in their industries, so you can learn from their mistakes and success stories.
Small group breakout sessions will allow you to get detailed and practical direction that you can instantly use in your own line of work.
Networking opportunities with leaders and coaches from dozens of industries who are actively incorporating equity-based practices, is like no other networking experience.
Fun like you've never funned before. If there isn't singing, dancing, good food, and karaoke — did it even happen?

After attending this event, I feel far more confident that I'll set my business on the right path... There's a lot of pressure to be very urgent and salesy... and what I learned this week is that there is another option... that you can (conduct your business) in the way that aligns with your values.

We're Excited to Meet You in Person
The Equity-Centered Coaching Summit has taken place virtually for four years, and in November, we hosted our first in-person event, The Coaches Forum, in Hartford.
The feedback surpassed all our expectations!
      Our biggest takeaways were:
      star
Not enough people are talking about equity in the coaching and personal development spaces.
      star
There is a need for more in-person events that are respectful, spacious, safe, and nonjudgemental.
      star
Convening in-person is not only desired, it's imperative.
We are eager and able to create that container and facilitate the discussions that will infuse equity-centered practices into your work, communities, and life.

      Our Roots
      Celebrating Five Years of Convening
      for Equity-Centered Coaching

On Saturday, May 30th 2020, I woke up to an inbox full of emails and DM's about a crisis that was brewing in the coaching industry.

It was a crisis that I had been warning people about for years. The coaching and online business world, was colliding with the larger world around us.

For years, the coaching industry had operated in a bubble that was completely disconnected from the conversations about race, diversity, equity, inclusion, privilege, that I had been participating in and professionally facilitating for at least 15 years.

It was really only a matter of time...

And after the murder of George Floyd, we saw it happen right on our social media feeds. Coaches and entrepreneurs where trying to figure out if and how they should respond, and the best intentions of some influential brands created more tension, harm, and confusion.

And then the most beautiful thing happened...

On a Sunday afternoon, in less than 24-hours of calling this Emergency Meeting, over 600 people, including everyone from the newbie coach to 7- and 8- figure industry leaders, Showed Up to learn, to lean in to the conversation, and many of those people continued to develop their diversity, equity, and inclusion practice and make big shifts in their life and business.

That session was essentially the birth of The Institute for Equity-Centered Coaching.

This year we will celebrate five years of our annual conveneging for a more equitable, inclusive, and antiracist coaching industry.

       The Institute for Equity-Centered Coaching
is a leader in coaching education, and is having a ripple effect across the industry. Our work and influence is found in some of the biggest companies and brands in the coaching and online business space and we are committed to continuing to advance the work that happens at the intersection of personal development, equity and justice, liberation, and antiracist business.
We define a coach as someone who facilitates and/or supports the growth, development and transformations with others; other people, businesses, and communities, and more.
             This means, in some ways...
            We are all coaches

"I'm not trained as a coach and (this event has) given me a lot of good takeaways in terms of where there are some gaps in the coaching that I do, and how I can fill those."
